Refund & Cancellation Policy

Pending final review by counsel before public launch. The figures below match exactly what the app itself calculates — this page describes the platform’s real behavior, not a general policy.

1. How a booking is priced

A booking’s total price is the Companion’s stated rate for the chosen duration, plus a 12% platform fee, plus 18% GST on the rate and platform fee combined. The full amount is collected upfront and held in escrow until it is released or refunded under this policy.

2. Customer cancellations

  • 24 hours or more before the event starts: full refund of the total amount paid.
  • Less than 24 hours before the event starts: 50% of the total amount is refunded; the remaining 50% is paid to the Companion as compensation for holding the slot.
  • No-show by the Customer: treated the same as a late cancellation above, unless an administrator finds an exceptional circumstance on review.

3. Companion cancellations and no-shows

  • If a Companion cancels or does not show up, the Customer receives a full refund of the total amount paid, regardless of how close to the event this happens.
  • The Companion’s account receives a strike. Repeated strikes lead to suspension of the Companion’s listing, and can lead to permanent removal.

4. Disputes

Either party can raise a dispute on a booking, including after it has been marked complete, up until escrow release. Raising a dispute freezes the held funds. An UrbanMove administrator reviews the booking record and any evidence submitted, then decides one of two outcomes:

  • Release the full amount to the Companion, or
  • Refund the full amount to the Customer.

This decision is final within the platform and is recorded against the booking. It does not limit either party’s separate legal rights.

5. When payment is released to a Companion

Absent a dispute, a Companion’s payment is released 2 hours after the booking is marked complete (or 2 hours after the event’s scheduled end time, if that is later). This hold window exists so a dispute can be raised before money moves. Because our automated release job currently runs once daily rather than continuously, release can in practice take up to 24 hours after that 2-hour window — we are working to run it more frequently.

6. How a refund is paid

Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at checkout (or, if the booking was paid from a JodiVibes wallet balance, back to that wallet). Refunds are typically visible within 5–7 business days, depending on the Customer’s bank or payment provider.

7. Check-in window

Check-in for a booking opens 60 minutes before the scheduled start time and closes 12 hours after the scheduled end time. A booking that is never checked in within this window cannot be marked complete, and is handled as a no-show under Sections 2–3 above depending on which party failed to check in.

8. Force majeure and exceptional circumstances

Where a booking cannot proceed due to circumstances beyond either party’s control (severe weather, government restriction, medical emergency, platform outage), either party may raise it as a dispute under Section 4 for an administrator to review on its facts, rather than applying the standard late-cancellation percentages automatically.

9. Questions about a specific refund

Open the booking from My Bookings and check its Receipt for the exact ledger entries, or contact support@jodivibes.in with the booking reference.
